Your darkness will certainly transform you when you are mature enough to allow yourself to be taught that life is a constant teacher at different stages, if you take advantage of every situation you enter, then you will be transformed. Otherwise you will only exist, many people do not like the light, because in the light whatever you do (good or bad) will be exposed, but in the darkness it will not be exposed, forgetting that if you are hit by a strong light you will be blinded affecting your sight.
