How Charitable And Kind Deeds Can Improve A Childs Intelligence

in #steemiteducation7 years ago (edited)

Confident and well-rounded children are those who not only have high intellectual intelligence (IQ) but also have a high emotional intelligence (EQ). Intellectual intelligence helps children think, learn, and solve problems they encounter, while emotional intelligence helps children recognize the feelings they experience and then help them to behave in an acceptable manner within their social environments.

During a child’s early years, it is an ideal time to grow and improve their learning experiences with regards to values, rules and morals. It is in these early stages that one can teach young minds about scriptures, or, scriptures can be used to tell inspirational and motivational stories, especially ones that have good lessons to share. During this time, you as an adult should also be setting an example by practising good values and morals yourself. From a religious perspective, you could start introducing the act of fasting and prayer to your little ones.

Routines like praying, helping others, sharing food and showing respect towards your neighbours is a great way to encourage a child’s EQ to develop well, to flourish in fact. Through these routines children will also learn about discipline and dedication, which are very important characteristics to have as one grows. To add to this, these little souls will also learn about empathy and harmony - key factors when it comes to socializing and communicating with others who are different from them. For instance, they will learn to respond kindlier to people who might have different customs, beliefs and follow a different religion to them. This type of knowledge and understanding is what makes the world go around.

Parents, teachers and other role models can help develop a child’s Intellectual Intelligence and Emotional Intelligence simply by doing good deeds themselves and by setting a good example for their young ones to mimic. Let children be involved in your charitable deeds from a young age, let them help feed the hungry, let them play with orphans and guide them in showing compassion and love.

One of my favourite activities that can be done to develop the emotional intelligence of children is to teach them the reading of prayer, especially in daily life and even more so, on religious holidays. A 5-years-old child already has the ability to memorize and remember what he has been taught, this is amplified if the teaching process is done in a positive and pleasant manner.

For the non religious members of our community we can teach morals, good values and make sure that actions are linked to positive change.

I am a big fan of using technology for purpose. All my lessons are about making positive change. As often as possible I refer to the UNISEF Global Goals to help children realise that even as children they can have a positive impact on our world!

NICE POST!!! it is very informative, we all know that the environment have a big influence and affect to our child or children. because of what they always saw to they think that this is the rights thing to do. but its still up to the parents of how they raise their children..

regardless of religion, i think every kid needs to learn to be kind.. there are too many smart people nowadays yet they lack empathy towards another..

we need to train young people to change that behavior by teaching them how to give starting from a young age.. learn to give and love each other I guess is the way towards a good and happy global society. thanks for doing your part in improving it ^_^
