Technique to solve a Word Problem

  1. Read the problem. Identify what kind of problem it all about.
  2. At the end of the problem, look for a question. This will help you to find what you are solving for.
  3. Start solving the problem with let x = the unknown. For every problem, keywords word are given. Look for this keywords; it usually found at the end of the problem.
  4. If you find more than one unknown, try to determine the smallest unknown and use it as your x.
  5. Go back to the problem, and reread it. Read it word for word. Simple problems have two statements. One statement is used to set up unknowns, and the other helps you to construct equations. Translate problems from words to numbers and symbols.

I am struggeling, like you, to get those big upvotes on my posts so my advice would be to give @MinnowPowerUp a go as you can earn up to 30% more steem power than just powering up! It's a subscription based daily upvote bot that draws its power from a delegation pool. I have more info on my experience with the system in this post where I explain how I earn over $1 a day from upvotes.
