The amphitheater is huge that could accommodate over 20,000 people, the largest in Greece. Argos is a wonderful place with many restaurants. There are many Roman aqueducts worth taking a look at.

Whoever goes through Argos must visit the ancient theater! On the edge of the city, imposing, carved on the rock (perhaps the only one) Today the theater is used occasionally for various cultural events. the entrance is free (definitely until midday)!

The ancient theater of Argos is the top cultural monument of Argos, located in a central part of the city, southeast of the hill of Larissa, stretching directly opposite the ancient market of Argos.

Constructed by Polykleitos in the late 5th century BC, the ancient theater of Argos is considered an architectural achievement, as a third is carved into a natural rock.

With a capacity of about 20,000 spectators in its years of prominence, the ancient theater of Argos is one of the largest ancient theaters in the Greek world,hosts musicals and dramatic games of Nemea, as well as races in honor of the goddess Hera, while during the Roman times the games that took place in the area were made in honor of the emperor.
