Offcuts and Imperfections
The words
were not quite right
constructing a sentence
so out of place,
punctuation
left waiting
for so much more.
A puddle
of wasted perfection
left melting
on the floor
when he could have been,
should have been
so much more.
Offcuts
scraped up
from the factory floor
taped together
with a willingness
to dream
for so much more.
A new story
written on the tapestry
of strength
born from the melted pool
of an imperfection
that believed
in so much more.

This poem made me think of one of my more recent pieces and how I cobbled it from nothing to be nothing. It could have been more. 😎
But did it need to be more? Sometimes the offcuts are more interesting, in their own way.
I went back to it to see if it needed more. Nope. An offcut was what it was meant to be. 😎
