Zintar Mortalis looks across the arena as Daria and her Dragons glare back at him.
"It's a pleasure to see you again Daria... have you fully recovered from the last time I thrashed you?" Zintar grinned behind his mask.
Daria shouts into the sky and high overhead a billowing scream can be heard that rattles the entire arena. "Last time I didn't bring my Gold Dragon! I offer no peace, but you'll be spared now if you leave."
Zintar's wicked grin faded from his face as the gold dragon lands beside Daria. Fear wasn't quite the right word... but a healthy respect for his opponent suddenly came to mind.
"Enough banter Daria." His staff begins glowing green, and the light flickers in and out around him as the flaming whip and bestial roar of the Lord of Darkness appearing are unmistakable.
"I hear you're still allergic to fire whips. You may want to ask Lyanna to visit you later and tend to the wounds you're about to receive!"
The Lord of Darkness roars and starts his charge across the arena leaving a trail of fire behind him!
It's been many months in development. It's taken a re-write of most of the back end of the system. It's got sweet, sweet, developer blood, sweat, and tears baked into it, and now, we're ready to offer this bad boy up to you!

Please keep in mind that this is the very first event in a new and technically complicated system. Despite significant testing, there still may be some bugs and issues that arise. We ask that you report any issues you experience in a respectful and constructive manner in the Steem Monsters Discord Server and we will do our best to get them resolved asap.
Also, note, that decentralized tournament creation is turned off until we're assured these go smoothly on the live server. Assuming everything goes as planned then we'll turn it on and populate 10k steem into new tournaments.

Seed is based on when you join, so the sooner you do the steps the more likely you'll have a first round bye.

I would personally like to say a big thank you for the horrible late communication that this was even going ahead. It seems that everything is slanted towards users in a particular set of time zones. Do you think a little more than two hours notice is appropriate?

If I could make a small suggestion, Steem Monsters has players in many different timezones. Rather than have a specific tournament start time listed, how about a countdown until the start time? That way at a glance you can see any tournaments that may be starting soon that you may fit your own commitments.

Saw some of the manual tournaments going on so I was pretty excited to see this! Been heavily enjoying Steem Monsters and can't wait to try out some of these automated tournaments. Just hoping I'll be around to catch one later tonight.
