Every time you play Steem Monsters you're transacting on the Steem blockchain. The blockchain is a limited resource, so its usage is limited by the amount of STEEM each account has "staked" in the platform in the form of Steem Power. Powering up your STEEM gives you Resource Credits, which determines how much you are able to transact on the Steem blockchain (among other benefits).

Is there info on how cards level up. I just started playing and am trying to figure things out. Also, my saved hands are not being saved?
@cyberblock welcome! You can level up cards by combining multiple cards of the same type. So, for example, if you have two or more "animated corpse" cards, you can combine them together in your collection to make one card that is higher level.
Ok thnx, and whats the purpose of having beta and alpha?
The alpha cards are just more rare, collectible versions of the cards which were sold only during the initial pre-sale of the game. They provide no advantage over beta cards in the gameplay however it does take fewer of them to combine to reach each level.
