Kalakai (Stenochlaena Palustris) or often called the Red Fern is a typical Dayak vegetable which is rich in iron so that it helps increase the formation of red blood cells. These wild plants are usually found in forests or fields of the Dayak tribe in Central.

During this time the parts consumed by the community and are believed to be traditional medicinal ingredients are the leaves. Many studies have been conducted to prove the truth of the properties possessed by the leaves of kelakai. Several studies have shown that the leaves of the plant is the root. The roots of Kelakai have not been used as food or consumed by the community. But the original Dayak people believed that the roots of the Kelakai had efficacy as an aphrodisiac drug.

Besides being able to be processed into vegetables and capsules, this plant can also be used as snacks such as kelakai chips. The manufacturing process is also made from selected ingredients picked in the morning (such as picking tea leaves) to maintain the water content and nutrition of plants.
