Do you have an agricultur extension in your town? a lot of time you can bring samples in and they can help identify what is going on. Just make sure that any plant material you take is in a tightly sealed plastic bag.
Or would a local nursery know?

I'm keeping a close eye on all other plants. Maybe it would indeed be a good idea to pass by the garden center with a sample, next time
