2 oz Silver QUEENS BEASTS. The whole collection to date #83

in #steemsilvergold8 years ago (edited)

So, what can I say that has not already been said about these coins? These are a stunning bullion series released by the Royal mint to showcase the 10 beasts of the UK. These are struck with a weight of 2oz is a first for bullion coins with the Royal mint. I think the £100 coin released 2-3 years ago was 2oz but it’s not classed as bullion. (That’s all its worth) I only buy the one of these each as I fear milk spots; it’s a pity because they will make a really great completed set. I tried to not buy this one, 2016 had a lot of add coins being released and I was trying to not add anymore coins that I would have to buy every year. I had resisted until I saw the griffin design released and added that and a lion to my next order, another victim. I’m down with the chunky style

They are what they, the lion of England, the Griffin of Edward the 3rd and the red Dragon of Wales. Each bullion coin is released with an unlimited mintage so no idea what there is out there. I can tell you a list of planned releases. I always thought the unicorn was next but nope, I was wrong. 2018 brings us ‘’Falcon of the Plantagenet’s’’ and ‘’Black Bull of Clarence ‘’, 2019 brings us ‘’Yale of Beatufort’’ and ‘‘White Lion of Mortimer’’, 2020 brings us ‘’White Greyhound of Richmond’’ and ‘’Unicorn of Scotland’’ and finally in 2021 the last release which is the White Horse of Hanover. A lot to look forward to folks.

It’s really hard to find out any rock solid information about this bullion series, the Royal are playing buggers again with the mintage number and stats. I will continue to buy 1 of these as they are released and hope they make a really nice collection someday to maybe pass on, it’s a really great idea for a bullion series and I hope the Queen lives to see it finish (I’m sure she other worry’s) but I don’t like the thought of maybe having to finish the series with Charles face on them. It might make them worth more in the long run. Anyways, hope you enjoyed reading me try to fill a page with no great information. Ha-ha

I like be these coin's they got me back into the numismatic side of collecting again they also have a one ounce proof unicorn. I have one of each like you buy they also released an antiqued version which is beautiful I have them and will have to post

I would love to see the antique one, i have never seen that before. Proofs are to rich for my blood, maybe someday i'll get that pay rise :D

They are pricey but I traded for it

winner winner, chicken dinner :) Cant wait to see the post

I resisted and resisted but i too have buckled, they are very artful with a nice mirror finish to boot. I also acquired another coin from the NIUE endangered species series.
Got caught photographing my new acquisitions the other day after getting out the shower, lets just say i got some strange looks and a few awkward questions :-D

haha, i bet. But if that's what your into.........

These are really nice and one of my current favorites for the semi-numismatic government issues series. I think it will be popular for sure. I also think it's good they are doing a slow release schedule and not just pumping them out.
