2017 - Manchester United

On 10 July 2017, Lukaku joined Manchester United, signing a five-year contract with an option for a further year. The transfer is reportedly worth an initial £75 million, plus £15 million in add-ons. The transfer came just a day after former Manchester United captain and club legend Wayne Rooney left the club to return to Everton, his boyhood club. Manchester United needed a striker after they allowed top goalscorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic leave the club on a free transfer. Manchester United coach Mourinho was not after just any striker; he wanted a proven goalscorer who can convert the chances that went begging last season which almost cost them the Champions League qualification. He also wanted to get a striker that has proven himself in the English Premier League so as to avoid the problem of having to get settled to the pace of the EPL, and since Harry Kane was not made available by Tottenham, he had to settle for the next available best option in Romelu Lukaku.

At the moment, Manchester United has a lot of options in the attacking position. It will be interesting to see how Mourinho is going to set his team up next season. It is yet to be known if Mourinho will stick with his favorite 4-2-3-1 formation or switch to a 4-3-3 formation. Whichever way, he's going to have to find a way to incorporate Lukaku, Mkhitaryan, Lingard, Martial, Rashford, Mata into the team.

Lukaku is a left-footed player who likes to use his physicality to get around defenders. He has stated that Chelsea's legend, Didier Drogba is his childhood hero and biggest idol. With a weight of 100.2 kg and a height of 1.90 m, it's always an uphill task for defenders to contain Lukaku especially when he is on his A-game.

He is one of only five players to score 50 Premier League goals before his 23rd birthday, and the fourth player and first foreigner to score 80 goals before his 24th birthday. He made his senior international debut for Belgium in 2010, and he has 50 caps for his national side. He also has a lot of experience playing for his country at the 2014 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 2016.

Manchester United have gotten a consistent and proven goalscorer who should easily convert the chances created by United's creative players like Mata, Pogba, Mkhitaryan as they will be challenging at the top level next season. They will be competing in the EFL Cup, FA Cup, English Premier League, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup.

Lukaku had an amazing year with Everton but I don't see that continuing at Old Trafford. How will he do at Man U? We'll see...

really good player, it's a great signing for man united , congrats for that! I wish everybody who reads this an enjoyable day.

Next time ,, CR 7 is back

Nice post. Followed you. Please follow me.

You mean Stormzy

Interesting to look forward to his contribution. Would he repeat such success at Everton? Or even dim?

Awesome ! But I don't like their chevy logo haha

i just hope he become a good 'buy' for man utd

Congrats! just noticed he's also a good party guy after his latest performance in Beverly Hills

I think this is a good business for Manchester United, considering the price bring quoted for morata, a player that might need time adapting to new environment, not a regular. It's a risk even mourinho wasn't ready to take. In lukaku, you have someone that understands the epl in and out. Hope things work out for both lukaku and Manchester United. All the best, and thanks to @steemsport
