NFL (Early Only) Fantasy Picks 12/24
We are back with our NFL Fantasy Today "Early Games" episode. There is a big slate in the NFL. We will divide the fantasy selections in an Early Post and then a Late Post. A lot of playoff implications in the today's games.
Damiere Byrd WR 4900. Byrd is probably the best play for the price on the entire slate. Carolina simply not 100% right now. Funchess is expected to play, but that is more or less to put a live body out there. Byrd is the only talent they have in the wide receiver corp near 100%. Expect him to see a lot of looks in the red zone today. He will also be lining up against Mcclain and Tandy who have been completely atrocious this year.
Tyrell Williams WR 5400. He is getting the targets on the road. Last game 7 targets, but only caught 3. He should be lined up with Claiborne most of the day. Claiborne is sporting a 48.6 player rating. That is just awful. Chargers need to win their last 2 to secure a wild card spot, they will be all systems go today.
C.J. Anderson RB 6200. The Broncos pretty much packed it in this year. That's the bad news, the good news is the reemergence of C.J. Anderson. 22 carries 2 weeks ago, then 30 carries last week! I think it's safe to say the Broncos want to avoid injuries and feed the ground game.
Alex Smith QB 7800. Chiefs need to win today and they clinch a playoff spot. Expect all systems go against a decimated Dolphins team. Smith has had a QB rating over 100 8 times this year. He rarely turns the ball over. Expect to be slinging the ball all over the field today.
Juilo Jones WR 8500. The Falcons need a win here and they clinch a playoff spot. They have a tough match up on the road against the Saints. It is time for Julio to carry this team on his shoulders. He has been bad this year. Just plain awful. He will be shadowed by Lattimore all day, but lets be honest Jones is match up proof when he wants to be. He can redeem himself today for the entire year with a big game.
Joe Mixon RB 6100. The Bengals are done for the year. Mixon has been out of action a few weeks now due to a concussion. He is the future of this club. Bernard is too old for the workload he has been given the last few weeks, he shouldn't get a lot of work in this one. There is no reason for Mixon not to see 20+ touches today.
Robert Woods WR 6600. Rams win today clinches the NFC West. It will be all systems go for this club today. Woods is clearly the number once wide receiver on this team. He is averaging 7 targets a game, with 10+ targets 2 of the last 3 games. He can run deep routes as well as anyone in the league. Cyprien is one of the worst safety's in the NFL sporting a player rating of 42.6! Play Woods with confidence.
Yeah, I've had Julio Jones in my fantasy from the very beginning of the season and most of the time felt frustration after Falcons' games))
But he can show off (in good meaning) himself today despite tough Saints' defense.
And what about Gurley? Can he show us someting close to the last week's perfomance?
I like Woods matchup more than I like Gurley. I think he will do fine, but he is too pricey for me on a slate with alot of viable running backs

In the Rams-Titans game much will depend on LA defense - how many opportunitites they will give Goff from good yardage. If there are long ones Gurley would be more secure option than WR ;)
