Week 6 of Ice Cube's Big 3 League was a week of blowouts and surprises. We saw the 3 Headed Monsters cop a win to retain their perfect record, and Ghost Ballers finally got their first W of the year against former Big 3 Champs Trilogy. Power had a convincing victory over Killer Three's while Three's Company took Tri-State to the cleaners.
In our first game of the evening, the top-seeded 3 Headed Monsters took care of business against the lowly Ball Hogs in a 51-45 victory. Ball Hogs actually led the top seed at the end of the first half, 26-20, but Reggie Evans of 3 Headed put the team on his back with a huge stat line of 24 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 assists. Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf was pretty quiet with only 4 points, 1 rebound, and 1 assist. Jermaine Taylor put up a nice line of 18 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal for Ball Hogs, but a 31-19 second half by 3 Headed was what sealed the deal.

Our second game of the night was a complete stinker from top to bottom. It may have been the most lopsided victory in the short history of the Big 3 League. Power trounced Killer 3's by an embarrassing margin of 22 in a 50-28 victory. Killer only put up 10 measly points in the first half followed by 18 in the second. Stephen Jackson nor Chauncey Billups suited up for Killer 3's, who were actually led by Metta World Peace with a whopping 9 points and 3 rebounds. It just wasn't their night. Power got even contributions across the board from their guys Glen "Big Baby" Davis(14 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block), Corey Magette (11 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists), and Cuttino Mobley (11 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist). Power now have a potent record of 5-1 and look like one of the true challengers to 3 Headed Monsters.
The third game of the night was another decisive one, where 3's Company convincingly defeated the potent squad Tri-State by a score of 51-29 (another 22 point victory). Andre Emmet led 3's Company to victory with a healthy contribution of 23 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists to go with 4 steals. He really was the driving force in their win tonight. Tri-State never got a superb mark from any of their guys. The best was David Hawkins with 10 points, 7 rebounds, and 1 assist. Tri-State started off the year undefeated with a 4-0 record, but are now on a 2-game skid. They're still in playoff positioning with a 4-2 record, but they need to right the ship before the final week rolls around.

The final game of the evening saw the Ghost Ballers claim their first victory of the season over last years Big 3 Champions, Trilogy. Ricky Davis came up huge for Ghost Ballers with 23 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists while Carlos Boozer had some solid input himself with 18 points and 7 rebounds. This was an incredibly disappointing loss for Trilogy. They went undefeated last year en route to their championship, and this year they're resting at a paltry 1-5. They're definitely out of the playoff race with this loss.
Next week will be Week 7 out of 8 in total. Games will take place in Boston, Massachusetts at 7 PM EST. We will get to see arguably the two best squads face off in Game 2 of the night in 3 Headed Monsters and Power. Tune in to Fox Sports 1 for the action!

No idea people watched this!

Swear it was a bunch of washed up old guys

Sometimes it feels like that but sometimes it's interesting. It's for nba junkies who need their fix in the off-season. If they can keep getting bigger and bigger names this could be real interesting

I know they have AI Amare Boozer and others but if they can get some more premier players, it could get interesting. I doubt its worth their while though unless they want to continue playing ball post NBA

I'm tryna see Steve Nash, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Kobe, and those types of guys suit up. All of them are probably too old and busted but I can dream.

I haven't followed the Big 3 too closely, but it sounds like its been a pretty interesting season thus far. Who do you like to win it all? Seems like Power is in good position, and that Magette and Big Baby Davis have been pretty solid for them thus far.

I say 3 Headed Monsters are still the team to beat while Power are right beneath them looking to ascend. Magette and Big Baby have been studs for em. 3 Headed Monsters are undefeated and doing all this all without last years Big 3 MVP in Rashard Lewis. Pretty impressive!

Oh wow I didn't realize 3 Headed Monsters were unbeaten and that they didn't have Rashard Lewis either! That is pretty impressive! Thanks for the analysis - who be your pick for this year's Big 3 MVP?

I think the league is turning out to be a viable business because it’s selling nostalgia mixed with a little crazy (Metta World Peace, Oakley). I wouldn’t be surprised if other sports copy a similar business model.

Well said!
