Music of Sufis - Qawwali
Qawwali
Qawwali is a unique form of Music inspired by Poetry of Sufis. 'Qaul' meaning in arabic is "Utterence (of Prophet)" and word Qawwali originates from 'Qaul'. Qawwali Music mostly relies upon vocals and a team who create a rhythmic sound by clapping their hands with the rhythm of vocals. In Central Asia and Turkey it is called 'Sema' and those performing a special Sufi Dance which was introduced by Rumi are called "Whirling Dervaish". Every movement, dress code and step has a meaning.

Sufis beleived that truth could only be reached by searching for meanings of life by analyzing and coping with one's own desires.Outer life of all persons is different but inner life and desires for everyone are common, so if one reaches onto himself then "essence of life" for everyone is same and divisions based upon Caste, Creed, Religion, Culture will go away. Only Human Values will matter and this world will become a peaceful place for all.

Beauty of a culture also depends upon which sort of values a culture promotes by its music. Cultures where Qawwali is famous are India and Pakistan in specific and in Asian Countries in general. Qawwali Music received international exposure when it was performed by late Pakistani Singers 'Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan' and 'Sabri Brothers'. Music has no boundaries, all people like their cultural music because it resonates with their emotions. So do taste different cultural values by listening to their Music :) .
Famous Sufi Poets include Baba Bhullay Shah, Abdul Latif Bhittai, Amir Khusrow , Jami, Saadi, Hafiz, Baba Fareed GanjShakar, Shams Tabreezi and Rumi are few to name here.
