RE: Steeve Now in Public Beta: Personal Recommendations and the World Without Bidbots & Voting Trails

Very presentable looking :)

Having checked out tag 'steemit', https://www.steeve.app/trending/steemit

This is a screenshot from coruscate's post:

Does the 48% mean 48% of the votes are bid-bots? I can't spot any in the list, and so I was wondering how you are classifying. Seems to be more to it than finding a bot list.

Happy to see more front-ends coming up with interesting features, cheers!

It is an estimate that are will be tuning. It means that about 48 % are genuine user votes. On the other hand, users mostly voting on the same articles as bidbots will get filtered out as well as voting trails. This number will never be totally precise.

Thanks a lot for the question!

In short Steeve is trying to filter out votes which are too correlated with the paid bids by the author. Those votes contain bidbots, vote sellers (using vote markets) or just voters who vote predominantly on prepaid posts. We find that those votes don't correlate with the quality of the post, so we're trying to arrange our trending pages without them.

For future reference you can also find the explanation if you click on the percentage. :)
