RE: Clawdbot Trial

in #stem3 days ago

I'm building at the moment in work and I was chatting to the builders about AI. They told me there are 3D printers building houses already in Ireland and that brick layers will be gone this decade. They say AI won't be able to fix a leak in your roof but we will see about that. Anyway it was just a mess around and it was $10 well spent. Raising a house is alien to us in Ireland because all our houses are made of concrete blocks. I'd say it's a tough business.

Sort:

"Raising a house..."

I like this phrasing, because that's where I think residential construction is going: where we plant a seed and guide the growth of our living home. I am working towards such development (on the downlow). I am far from even the first steps succeeding, and my recent recamping has delayed things even further, although paradoxically, it may have pared away false directions and brought me closer to these goals by focusing my efforts on those that remain to me.

I think fixing leaks will be a while. It's easier to destroy and start fresh than to R&R failing structures, as you well know, but I think maintenance will come and sooner than I expect.
