Didn't you play guitar there? It was so much fun to meet everyone face-to-face and the food was incredible at the dinners. My wife and I took one day to do a side trip to Sintra to tour the town and the castle. We also took a day to see the presentations at the LX Factory. Yeah, anywhere in Asia is problematic for me. Western Europe is far more doable when flying from North America.

I played my ukulele and we had some other musicians there.
I wouldn't be keen on going to the US for now. There are a few events around Europe though. I went to HF in Amsterdam by train.
That's it! I remember. I don't blame you for not wanting to come here, the mid-to-large sized cities are downright dangerous right now. I would have left a long time ago if I could've—probably either somewhere in the UK or The Netherlands. I first started looking into becoming an expat around 2016 but it didn't work out for various reasons. Europeans are very lucky to have such a good rail system!
I was in the eastern US and Canada a couple of years ago with no issues. We used some trains then, but nothing to match the speedy ones across Europe.
Canada is completely different, in my experience. I've traveled a lot to Montreal and through Toronto with zero issues. A lot of our cities have become lawless, especially after dark. There's no way I'd take public transit, day or night, in any major US city right now. The next time I come to Europe I plan on staying at least a month or two. It's so expensive to fly over the Atlantic these days it makes sense to stay a while and experience as much as you can during one trip. I'd like to flying into London and stay for 7-10 days and then take the rail to explore the rest of Europe.
