Lagos was a land full of endless possibilities, the strugle can be seen like a person. it was a land of poets, rebels, food, culture, especially culture, its woven into the fabric of the place. Here legends have lied and died and it was home to those who dared because the stress couldn't be compared to that of the other states of the country, a state that never sleeps. While the people of lagos are as friendly as they are corny, hustlers hurrying to catch an early bus at the bus stops to beat the never ending traffic, its a life i tell you.
And so it was still.
It was once her place, she thought silently as she stood feet of the ground, her pale brown hair loosed about her face in massive curls, the sadness in her dark brown eyes where skin deep... if only one could see her.

Catherine was the name given to her at her baptism, she couldnt have known she had cried her lungs out on that day, but she had lived her life known as Ireoluwa which translates to the goodness of God.
She floated infront of the massive 1 story buliding that once houe a notable family, the house still held all of its old decor in place, painted in rusty good and white, lights at every corner of the house, while that might have been for safety, it sure light up the place and a beautiful garden sat out back. Most passerby believed who ever lived in a house like that had to be happy all the time. They judged a book by its cover.
She floated off to the window that was once her place of solitude, she hadnt had much friends in her lifetime, owing to no ones fault. A new family lived here now, a happy one from the looks of it. The house told of beautiful memeories that had ended in such pain and misery but the family that lived there now couldnt have known that for they looked so peaceful and beautiful.
No time for skulking around Ire, you are here for work, she thought to herself...and so she vanished and the otedolas family never noticed she was ever ther, for who can notice the absent presence of a ghost.

As she stared into the busy streets of people going about their normal life, the living going about their business, everyone looking like they were in a hurry to nowhere, she had left this world when she was only 18. She had barely just started to understand what life was all about and all of a sudden……… all she wanted was revenge and she was going to get it no matter what but first a little sight-seeing wasn’t going to hurt a living soul.

‘’oh no’’! This can’t be happening’ Kaden thought to himself as he walked as fast as he could into the office building, he had an interview, which isn’t the first of so many in the last 4months. He had lost his job a year back and had since been job hunting. “ we would get back to you” was always the answer. Marcus finally knew the meaning of the statement ‘’looking for a job is a job’’. He was reaching his limit, one more time and he would have to move on to plan B which he hadn’t yet figured out what it would be. Lagos was a land of opportunities and he wasnt leavin g until he got a good chance at it.
He got out an hour late from the gigantic wanna-be sky scraper building, looking down casted and sad, he had lost this one again, the interviewer might have been pleased with his cv or so she seemed but he was sure he wasn’t going to get a call back. He has just one more interview left which wasn’t until the next two weeks, he didn’t have it in him to make any more drive round the city so he headed home, more like a junk yard to him. With the weight of the world of his shoulder and regretting why his life was in existence, he entered into his car and was about to drive off when the lady in white didnt seem to notice he was about to run over her.
'will you get out of the way' kaden screamed in frustration as he had enough of this day already.
she didn't move
"get out of the way" he said again as he punched his car horn loud and clear.
she still didn't move
when he felt he's had enough of lagosians for one day, Kaden got down from his car ready to give the little lady a piece of his mind.
" hey im talking to you" with all the anger he could control " are you blind? i have horned and asked you to get out of the way however nicely i can and you still wouldn't budge. I wouldn't be the one to kill you, please move"
Ire had to stare and look around at who the gentleman who didnt seem all so gentle was talking to.
"oh good lord" kaden exclaimed " you seem to be obviously insane and i just deal with that" with that said he got back into his rusty old car and was about to zoom off when she finally walked out of his way
why did she look so shocked and disbelieving at him, he thought to himself as he drove off.
She had to be crazy, he concluded at last...

To be continued...
