In 1999, I remember my mom being heavily pregnant with a child, before she gave birth, it has been only me as the only child and it meant not having quality playing time, even as a 6 year old I always prayed for my mother to have a son, because she has already lost a two daughter, and they were twin girls, I remembered asking my mother where my twin sisters were, but she was always ending up in tears, so I decided to always keep quiet, I knew maybe they were away, never to return again.

In January 20 2000, I was on my to school, my school was just some kilometers away from my house so as a six year old I use to trek to school once it's 8 in the morning, however that day seemed different, my father bathed me instead of my mother I asked my father why he said my mom was a bit sick, but I knew it had to do with the pregnancy, I walked to school however and before schools were closed my teacher rushed in and told me that my father was waiting outside for me, that was a first my father never comes to my school, a bewildered me rushed out with my lunch box seeing my father, he took my hands and rushed off.

1:15 PM (MY MOTHER AT THE HOSPITAL)

Well it was a 30 minutes ride in my father's motorcycle, he was pensive and and disturbed and he rode without even asking smiling, when we got to the hospital, her carried me down the hospital ward and took me inside she was on the bed and calling my name, I was on my uniform and when I went close to her, she grabbed me tight and she was in tears hugging me, I told her she was going to be fine, she was obviously going through labour, I was really worried, I hope my unborn sibling wasn't going to end up like my twin sisters who I can't see anymore? a lot of question filtered through my mind, a whole lot of details happened but as a 6 years old, the memories were fading but yet still evergreen in my mind.

3:00 PM JANUARY 20 A BABY FINALLY COMES

I had slept off a bit outside the emergency ward on a chair really, but I woke up with the doctors barking orders to the nurse, everyone seemed frantic and my father kept asking questions where he was pacing up and down as well, I went over to him, held him and he carried me up reassuring me that my mom was okay.
After what may seem Like an eternity, a nurse came out smiling and whispered things to my father, and he went in with a loud laughter and came out, he told me that mother has given birth and that of course I had a brother, you can't imagine how I felt, a brother at last, I threw up in laughter and hugged him, so much, I asked him when I could see my brother he said maybe later, I was restless, I told him I want to see him instantly, he took me in and the ward was really bloody, the nursed were just cleaning the areas up, I saw my mother's smile and I jumped to her and really held her so tightly, it was so amazing, but then I heard the tiny cries of our champions, my little brother, I went over to him carried him up and well he was a bit tiny so I carried him, I was going to lose my balance but my father supported me, I was so happy that I could have a brother to play with, a really nice delight I was going to tell my friend at school about my mother's birth of my brother I really was thrilled, it was something I remember too well I was never going to forget January 20th of 2000 there wasn't really any android phones and smartphones but the thing is I remembered his face too well his tiny smiles and his fragile fingers.

Here is my brother and I he was 3 and I was 9

The birth of my brother was the best thing that did happen to me, and it's really amazing, I could still remember his face till today.
