After did not post anything for seven days, today I come back to greeted the steemians with information about the struggle of a man who has selling salted fish business in the subdistrict of Muara Batu, Aceh. This small business made him success to survive in the midst of the current economic moratorium.
Setelah tidak memposting selama tujuh hari, hari ini saya kembali menyapa para steemians dengan informasi tentang perjuangan seorang bapak pedagang ikan asin di daerah kecamatan muara batu, Aceh. Usaha kecil-kecilan ini setidaknya sudah membuatnya berhasil bertahan hidup di tengah morat-maritnya kondisi ekonomi saat ini.
If we travel towards Banda Aceh precisely in Dakuta area, then we will find a stall that sells various kinds of salted fish. Salted fish is a fish that has been preserved, the preservation process itself includes several stages. That is the fish split and cut and then cleaned, then the fish is sprinkled with salt, or it can also be soaked into salt water. Then let stand for approximately 10 hours before dried in the sun.
Jika kita melakukan perjalanan menuju ke arah Banda Aceh tepatnya di daerah Dakuta, maka kita akan menjumpai sebuah lapak yang menjual beraneka macam ikan asin. Ikan asin merupakan ikan laut yang sudah di awetkan, proses pengawetannya sendiri meliputi beberapa tahap. Yaitu ikan dibelah dan dipotong kemudian dibersihkan, setelah itu ikan tersebut ditaburi garam, atau bisa juga direndam ke dalam air garam yang pekat. Kemudian diamkan selama kurang lebih 10 jam sebelum di jemur di terik matahari.

Usually people will enjoy the salted fish accompanied by other typical Aceh culinary that is kuah pliek, and we also can find salted fish as a complement in Aceh food stall dishes.
Karena sudah di awetkan, maka pastinya ikan asin menjadi tahan lama alias aman untuk disimpan dalam jangka waktu yang lama. Biasanya orang-orang akan menikmati ikan asin ditemani dengan kuliner khas Aceh lainnya yaitu kuah pliek, dan kita juga bisa menemukan ikan asin sebagai pelengkap di hidangan-hidangan warung makan Aceh.
The types of fish which is salted include anchovy fish, cork fish, mackerel fish, even in this place also sell processed shrimp. The price of this salted fish ranges from sixty thousand to two hundred thousand rupiah in one kilogram, depending on the type of fish. According to Mr. Darwani as the owner of the business, every day he managed to reap profits up to three hundred thousand rupiah, but if the buyer deserted then the income can only be around one hundred thousand rupiah. Therefore, the business of selling this salted fish has been occupied by the man for many years. Although not make him rich, but at least his life is very prosperous.
Adapun jenis ikan yang di asinkan meliputi ikan teri, ikan gabus, ikan tenggiri, bahkan di tempat ini juga menjual udang olahan. Harga perkilogram nya berkisar antara enam puluh ribu hingga dua ratus ribu rupiah, tergantung jenis ikannya. Menurut pak Darwani selaku pemilik usaha, tiap harinya dia berhasil meraup keuntungan sampai tiga ratus ribu rupiah, namun jika pembelinya sepi maka pemasukan yang di dapat hanya sekitar seratus ribu rupiah. Maka oleh karena itu, usaha menjual ikan asin ini terus ditekuni oleh sang bapak selama bertahun-tahun. Walaupun tidak membuat dia kaya raya, tapi setidaknya hidupnya sangat sejahtera.
