Videography is the child of television, the so-called first video recordings on discs. In the far seventies of the last century, a device for recording and reproducing video information was invented.
"Imagine a plastic disc that resembles a vinyl record, but it's large, the disc is placed on the player, and the cable runs to your TV (imagine also the TV of the seventies), and the first frames of your lyubimy movie appear on the screen ..."
So it was the beginning of video recording. This is normal for us now. And then!
The most interesting thing is that the reason was the man's desire to control the movie itself. How to read the book, I wanted to stop, put down the book, then restarted when convenient and from any place. Man needed a choice and management. At that time, cinema only existed on film. And as you know, this film could not provide. Even a small hitch was dangerous, the film burned.
The first magnetophones were very cumbersome. Any video information could be recorded on a magnetic tape. But gradually the development of eoectronics their dimensions decreased and the idea of recording on a magnetic cassette appeared, which could be inserted inside the tape recorder.
But as it turned out, it was more profitable to record video information on a video CD than on a tape. That's how it is! VCR for discs at that time was twice as cheap as a cassette tape. A disc in 5 times!
The video disc overplayed the usual record, only the size was bigger, the track width was reduced and the speed was 1500 per minute.
The first to produce video players were the firms of Teldek, Telefunken and Decca. They jointly began to produce in 1975 such tape recorders. Also, 350 discs with video recordings were released to the market. I remember the time when there were DVD players. The number of films interesting for viewing was also limited.
