Welcome to HIVE. I checked out your account on HiveBlocks.com .

https://hiveblocks.com/@the-rebel-gene

The people who created your account failed to give you any HIVE POWER. You cannot write posts without HIVE POWER.

I decided to delegate 20 HP to your account. That will give you some resources to write posts. Posts and comments cost the same amount. With 20 HP you can write about 18 posts over a five day period. The best approach is to publish one post a day.

The upvote works as follows: Each upvote consumes 2% of your upvote power. Voting Power regenerates at 20% a day. In other words: upvote 10 times a day.

The upvote calculator shows the value of your upvote.

As mentioned, I delegated 20 HP to your account. Your upvote is now worth $0.0003 . If you upvoted 33 times, the total value of your upvote will be shy of a dollar.

Three days of upvoting, and you won't redistribute a full penny. This is a frustrating system.

This whole system is based on the idea that the users will buy HIVE POWER. Small accounts with little HIVE POWER are considered plankton.

The upvote is the primary means of networking on this system. So plan on dropping 10 upvotes a day. People will see your upvote and are likely to come and see your account and upvote your posts.

Don't upvote your own posts. It is not worth it.

Don't autofollow the accounts that follow you. There are some spam accounts that auto-follow all new accounts.

Good luck with HIVE. It is a frustrating platform.

PS: I will probably remove the delegation I dropped on your account after a few weeks.

Thanks a lot!
Honestly didn't really look into how it would involve a lot of networking. I was hoping to stand out through quality :-)
Thank you for the explanation. It is very complex, and new users are not get helped out either...

You don't have to do that much networking. Just drop 10 upvotes a day on accounts with a similar tag.

HIVE does not have a large number of users. The total user base is around 10,000.

It is good to look at the people who upvoted your post and then go and upvote one of their posts in return.

Sadly, because your upvote value is low, you shouldn't upvote comments to your post. HIVE doesn't give a payout until the upvote value of a post is over $0.02 . I won't receive a reward for the upvote that you put on my comment. This loss is called HIVE DUST.

When my account was small (in the plankton), I learned to upvote only posts that I knew would make it over the payout threshold.

I have 2500 HP. The upvote I placed on your post is worth over $0.03. The value of an upvote is dependent on the HP of the account. The structure makes for unbalanced conversations.

BTW, editing a posts consumes resources. You have extremely limited resources. You have enough for two posts a day. An edit counts as a new post.

HIVE is an interesting concept. It is also very frustrating.
