Public Art in Melbourne Australia

in #streetart3 years ago

I perhaps have not been spending as much time as I once did in the CBD of Melbourne. It's not for want of time, it's more to do with opportunity

But one of the things I love about this town is the little lanes in the city, designed for serving the buildings, to keep the riff raff off the more prestigious, wider streets, the public facing front.

Now these laneways are the heart of the city, bars more likely to use a back entrance next to the bins rather than the boulevard, and in these alleys is where you find public art, most is true street art, done under the cover of night, some is commissioned, part of government funded programs to remind us all of what is amazing with this town, to entice us back - all with QR codes.

This is that artwork - the art of Sunfigo

Cool works... it must take a lot of time/patience to do a work like this
