( 42 pics ) Underground animals and exotic metro art will be the topic of this post. Let me check first to look out of the window... Yes, it´s deeply dark, in the middle of the night, perfect time for the Vagabundler to write something for the Steemians. :-) This time it is about the subway station "Zoo" which is obviously at our city zoo. The artist Avri Koyum and the Emaillierwerk Boos & Hahn designed the whole station with a special theme for the track area on the down level as well with another theme in the middle leve between street and tracks, this one I will show you in the next post. There is a lot for now. Like with Noah's Ark.

The paintings on the underground walls are definitly no graffiti, it´s a complex wallpainting about the animal and ark thematic, but the effect is the same. Before they created and changed this whole station, the walls have been grey, ugly and just subway underground darkness. These colorful scenery with all these different little animal around made the station in the ground into a little impressive animal park below surface.

I lived around the corner for a while and had to take the metro from this station every day during the week for some month, and every morning I found somthing new, I explored some other little detail. This station was just an awesome good morning breakfast for my brain. Not too much, but still with huge space and open for a smooth start, slightly painted, enjoyable for everybody, for adults, kids and gradmas.

It´s very nice how the artists put the topic of the zoo and the animals into this close by station. And not only onto the walls, as well they designed the benches and sitting areas in animal shapes. There are several turtles, on other places elephants and as well crocodiles build into the tiles construction. All these little gimmicks change it how you feel and think while waiting for a few minutes for your train, and it gives different mpulses than waiting in a grey tube or in a cluster filled upe with garbage advertisment spam.

Yes, it´s not graffiti, but it´s art in the urban landscape and it´s giving positive vibes to the people who are actually trespassing this location every day.

The paintings and graphics from upstairs which I will show you in the next post are much more abstract. But first we go here we with the art around the track level.

Very cool subway station... Everything corresponds to the name of the station, the walls with its murals, the street furniture ... Details everywhere (cool the Iguana on the map).

Wait for the second one. There is a middle level between the tracks and real world. And there have been some other artists on work and been doing great art. It is as well with animals, but just much more abstract. I think you would like it. i try to post it the next days, here just a little look....

Yes, there should be much more color and painting just everywhere. It changes the mood of the people. Why having a grey wall? Just for real? Why? Even if it is not a painting. Why always sad colors? .... So my conclusion: Paint everything ;-)

sehr schöne wandgestaltung. die pastelltöne gefallen mir sehr gut. was ich immer wieder interessant finde ist, dass bei den darstellungen um Noahs arche immer nur zwei tiere dargestellt werden, wobei doch von den reinen tieren und den vögeln sieben an board waren.

Ich dachte ich hab jetzt zwei Artikel. Einmal unten, das was ich hier gepostet habe. Einmal kommt noch was von oben, also der Zwischenenbene, ganz anders gemalt und gezeichnet, auch wieder Tiere und abstrakt. .... aber .... da gibt es noch eine größeres Artwork, und das ist weder auf der Gleisebene noch auf der Ebene drüber. Und es ist nicht bei irgendeiner der Auftragsarbeiten der beiden Aktionen entstanden. Aber es ist auch da, und es ist erstmal einfach nicht aufgefallen. Es hat sich reingezeckt....Sehr cool! :-) .... Es ist mir erst überhaupt eigentlich dann vor paar Tagen ganz wirklich zum ersten Mal beim Fotomachen aufgefallen. Genial. Also beides. Das Machwerk und wie es sich reingemoggelt hat. Niemand weiß seit wann oder wie, aber es passt perfekt rein. Reingequätschddddd. dädä. :-) Hat mich sehr amüsiert das selbst zu entdecken. Also an einem Ort an dem ich schon hundertausendmal vorbei gelaufen bin. Jetzt auf dem Foto sieht es vielleicht sehr offensichtlich aus, weil ich es im Fokus hab. Aber in der B-Ebene läuft jeder nacht unten schauend, will zur Bahn, rennt zur Bahn... keiner schaut was da oben an der Decke ist... Hier ein kleiner Vorgeschmack, im nächsten Post hab ich ein paar mehr: Vorgeschmack:

ja, die arbeiten die nicht auf anhieb ins auge springen, obwohl sie so offensichtlich sind, zeigen welche scheuklappen wir doch haben, wenn wir durch die stadt laufen. es ist faszinierend, wie der öffentliche raum wirkt, wenn die menschen zu hause, und die straßen leer sind. sonst unbeachtete orte werden auf einmal total präsent. andere orte, die sonst die aufmerksamkeit auf sich ziehen, schlummern unbemerkt vor sich hin. ich habe bei mir festgestellt, dass ich auf einmal einen ganz anderen blick auf den raum hatte, als ich mit dem unatorisierten eingreifen in den öffentlichen raum begonnen habe. man scannt auf einmal alles mit ganz anderen augen und nimmt vorher nicht gesehenes wahr.
bin gespannt auf den post. ich hoffe, da ist dann auch ein bild aus der perspektive, aus der das werk nicht mehr so verzerrt aussieht ;). es scheint, als habe der künstler einen ganz bestimmten ort der betrachtung schaffen wollen.

Der Post ist online :-) Und ja, seit ich angefangen hab mehr und mehr online zu stellen, lauf ich auch ganz anders durch die Stadt oder überhaupt durch die Gegend. Wenn man das genauer auseinander nimmt, also voher war es vielleicht gedacht: Interessiert es mich, speicher ich es ab im Hirn, schön gut, usw. Aber jetz, man denkt eben weiter. Könnte es andere interessieren? Wie interessant ist es generell? Was ist eigentlich interessant für wen? Und warum? Und über all sowas macht man sich dann mehr Gedanken und läuft dann eben mit viel offeneren Augen durch die Welt. Und dann fallem einem auch viel mehr tolle Dinge in der Stadt auf. Du kennst das ja ;-) Der neue Beitrag gefällt dir sicherlich auch, die Fläche ist jetzt nicht so groß, aber ich hab über 100 Fotos gemacht, 72 sind online. Es gibt taber ja auch viele Tierarten. .... Ich konnt einfach nicht wegstreichen und hab dann fast alles mit rein gestellt, weil ich den Malstil auch so toll fand.
