Unusual Business

STREET PHOTOGRAPHY SERIES

Outside an office in Bank, City of London

We have a window of opportunity. We are in such a time now that the coronavirus infection rates are the lowest since the peak in the UK. International travel has reopened as have schools for the younger children, businesses and social spaces. It isn't, however business as usual.

Yesterday the government announced that masks will now be mandatory for shoppers in England. This wasn't the case before - not even during the peak times. Of course the shops were closed then anyway, so that point may be moot. Masks have been mandatory on Transport For London the entire time. This includes buses, trains and the tube.

Something unusual about to happen I think. The government may have seen the writing on the wall, hence the new mask rules. Perhaps they are taking their cues from America where the number of cases has gotten even worse than it was in May. Perhaps they are paying attention to neighbours like Spain this time. Spain has had a worrying spike which they are now trying to contain. Who knows.

So this window of opportunity I mentioned, what shall one do with it? Shall one get out? Perhaps to a place that wasn't as badly hit the first time round. I believe there is a second wave coming. It isn't yet business as usual.

Peace & Love,

Adé

Do you mean travel, @adetorrent? or out and about? I've taken a punt and booked into Halifax Premier Inn for the Hive meetup planned for 19th September. Premier Inn seem to have good hygiene arrangements in place; the venue for the meetup is expansive (and free - hosted by @c0ff33a).

I think we may be about to see a second wave earlier than expected. I don't think they'll lock us down in September, probably October-November haha. I think the meeting is safe for now :)
