It’s another #sublimesunday - given so many people are keeping up with the tag I created now seems like a good time to do the same myself!

And it’s not like I am ever short of things happening, we have had quite a mixed weather week of sunshine and showers - could almost be April again. Today it is sunny but quite windy still, and despite some heavy rain in recent days the hosepipe ban could be on well into winter.

Not managed to find any good flowers for this week, but found some nice examples from my photo history

We had a Bank Holiday last Monday, which always seems like a good idea - an extra day off work. The only problem is the work just keeps building up so there is the same amount to do and one less day to do it in. So it’s definitely been busy, with loads of roasted coffee to produce and ship out.

Good news though, the 10kg roaster has been running fine all week - it seems like the replaced capacitor has solved the issue with the cooling fan motor and it has worked fine all week. I did have some concerns, because normally the motors they use on the roasters have a single capacitor for start/stop/run of the motor. When I opened up the motor on the 10kg, it had two capacitors - the one I replaced that had clearly failed badly, and another larger black unit which I was not so sure of it’s function. After reaching out to the roaster manufacturer, it seems the black unit is a run only capacitor - and what I should have replaced the smaller unit with was a start/stop only unit. I am still waiting on an answer as to if using a start/stop/run capacitor would cause an issue - but as the motor has run fine all week I guess it’s fine.

I did manage to get some photos of the coffee roasting, and dropping out to cool - that always looks good. And I took a photo of the roaster, the photo in last weeks post was from just after it had been installed in May - I have tidied up the walls a bit since then.

While the new roaster has improved productivity, pretty obvious really it is replacing a 5kg roaster so twice the roast capacity in the same amount of time, plus the cooling pipe is separate now - when they were joined on the 5kg the cooling fan being on messed with the drum air flow so we could only roast again once cooling had finished - now we can roast as soon as the coffee is out in the cooling tray. Plus new variable speed drum and exhaust is improving the coffee quality even more, and the auto chaff discharge system makes clean up easy and stops us having to cool down and shut off the roaster half way through the day. I do still need to move the old 5kg roaster though, had a few people interested but it could be sitting taking up storage space a while longer yet.

So another fun and games week for #sublimesunday - all photos my own taken on my iPhone.

Two weeks in a row now….. NICE
That new roaster looks like it’s the answer. Along with the separate piping of course. Glad things are going well for you brother. You’ve worked hard to get here.

I know but I might have exhausted my creativity already - really need to get my head into taking photos of things while I am just going about the daily grind. Should have taken photos of the two postage lockers that decided they did not want to scan any parcels today - some server error so they could not confirm the labels. So now I have a boot load of parcels to try and get rid of on the way to work - if they manage to fit them by then!

Thanks for the nudge. 😎👍

You are welcome, thanks for dropping in I hope you are keeping well.

Your place must get pretty warm in the summer. I always enjoy your coffee and may need to order more soon. Any suggestions on which to try?

!BEER

Thanks for calling in, it all depends on your taste of course and how you are going to brew it - the Brazilian Yellow Bourbon is good for espresso or drip/filter aeropress. Rwanda is popular for drip brewing, as is the the Colombian Flor Del Diserto - although they are very fruity coffee's so might be a bit too overpowering as espresso. Costa Rican is a good all rounder - but it really just depends on your own taste.

I'll have a look. I've had the Hive coffee a few times and want to try something else.

No way did you just recommend that one 🤣

This arrived a couple of days ago...

Will be asking for a suggestion next time as I am looking for something very specific...
Extremely high altitude, medium roast and ideally organic. If that ain't working for what is available at that time, not a problem, that is a very specific choice for one cup a day, there will always be plenty of other beans in my regimen lol.

I have never had a blend I didn't utterly love and the beans always smell so bloody amazing
the cool valve bags you use always give an awesomely aromatic sneak peak, which is invaluable when I am not ready to open the bag but really looking forward to it.

I always think to myself that I wish you were closer to me, your shed filled with the amazing fragrances would be my ideal place to work... Presumptive? Naaaah, I would always offer an empoyer in a job I really wanted a free trial and no one would ever let me go after having me in their employ 😂😁🤣

I still have to taste your coffee. Let me know how I go about it from Ireland. Can pay in FIAT or Hive. Just add the delivery cost on.

Just head over to whiterosecoffeeroasters.co.uk - just fiat I am afraid I was using coinbase commerce but the amount of documentation they wanted got ridiculous - for the odd random order it wasn't worth the hours of filling out forms. It's almost as bad as PayPal blocking payments for Cuban coffee - the world can be stupidly weird sometimes. Would still like to get some more Cuban in but one roaster said Shopify even cancelled his entire website for listing it -_-

Fiat is perfect . Il order this week

@c0ff33a On your page now. I want something that will blow the head off me and is strong. What would you recommend?

On a roll man! I've always wondered if different beans have different aromas to you? I'm not keen on different types as much as say, cheese or something, so I wouldn't know. !PIMP !UNI !DUO

Bloody FABULOUS to see an active post from the Roastmaster General himself!

Hope you and yours are doing great Sir! Busy as ever, what else is new? Wouldn't it be awesome if the ebbs and flows actually fitted in with your life at any given time, but when is this whole existence thing ever that straightforward? I was hoping to come and collect an order from you but life just hasn't been that kind with time and fires to put out.

I would love to make time to do so, some time, obviously at a prearranged day and time when you could take 20 minutes out to catch up.

As for the weather, yup... It certainly turned at a moments notice and kept on throwing out something new every day over the last week or so. Hoping for a so-called Indian summer (as I am every single year since birth!!!) the law of numbers says it has to happen sometime though, eh?

Stay well, take good care R! 😎☕🌞
