What a shit Saturday. Shit, but necessary at least!
I had planned to spend half the day on the allotment, but it's just been drizzling literally all day, so I had to shelve that, and instead I've spent literally all day doing shitty chores...
Defo an in day!
In fairness these were at least chores which NEEDED doing: the kind of things I've put off for the last three and a half months of being back in Hereford...
I split the day in two: physical chores and online type chores.
Physical Chores...
This basically meant tidying the entire house and scrubbing.... well over due....
I managed to...
- hoover and scrub the living room and kitchen floors - I actually broke into quite a considerable sweat, on my hands and knees with a cloth.
- clean the entire bathroom
- weed the front garden
- hoover the upstairs and tidy things away
- wash a few odd things, like bags and slippers and cushion covers.
- sort a lot of paper work.
I've decided that my house was way too skanky, so I'm going to try and do this kind of cleaning in the evenings - it only takes about 15 mins to do the basics (wash up, wipe surfaces) so I'm going to tag on 15 mins every evening and maybe, for example, clean the shower one day, everything else the next, scrub one floor one day and so on.
I figure I can get round everything once a fortnight like this, much easier than spending half the day once a month or so!
Punishing online chores
No wonder I put these off:
- finally logging into one bank account for the first time in 6 months via juggling batteries in a card reader.
- changing my address with the Portuguese finances
- setting up a few direct debits.
- MOT check (not due until later than exepcted)
- updating my Mac, something I really shouldn't be so slack with.
- just tidying up old files and emails. One has to keep on top of these things...
Bit of a suck day, but at least it's done!
Honestly I feel a bit crap, it's Saturday but I feel like I've just had a work day, no sense of reward, but I don't want to do beer tonight as I want to run tomorrow and make up for the allotment time I missed out on today, so I need to be one it!
Hopefully I'll have some more fun weekends in the future, this one sucks!
The Dregs, ah the dregs.
The things we neglect but must eventually happen, the longer we wait the worse it gets.
Lol, i need a Dregs secretary.
I find your list of accomplished things inspiring. It may have sucked for you, but it generated a spark for me. 🙏
Take the rough with the smooth, today was much better!
Gotta take the sucky days with the good, my friend. At least tomorrow, you'll be glad it's behind you ;) Here's to fun weekends in the future!
Actually today much better, sunny - I'd almost forgotten what it looked like, the sun, nice time on the plot! Cheers!
BEER
That day sucked but at least all those tasks are done! 💪💪 Hope this Sunday will be better
There's always chores I ought to do, but other activities are more tempting. I have a few documents on my desk to sort out. I can never keep up with the garden, but I try to tackle the worst of it.
It has been wet. parkrun was a washout, but I got through it.
Always better things to do, but there comes a time when these things must be done!
Good effort with the parkrun!
A shitty day indeed but the sun is out this morning! Yay!
Good job on those tasks! All that in one day, hats off!
Yes today MUCH better!
