Drone Shots and Sunsets - Sun Thursday

in #sunthursday7 years ago

Ever since I purchased my Drone, I've been practicing after work with the mechanics to better properly fly it and capture footage.

So far I'm impressed with how amazing the footage quality has been from the Drone. The Drone is able to capture video in 4k and take excellent HD snapshots from up above. The connection is maintained as high as 200 feet and goes as far as 150 feet away from the take off point. I'm sure it can travel further and maintain network connection but as of now I just want to ease into the distance and not lose the Drone itself.

The first picture was captured from the Drone on a lower altitude than usual. It was windy by the coast so I didn't want to lose it in the wind when it flew higher. The following two pictures are when I flew the drone at my nearby high school. I especially like the second picture because I positioned the Drone to be lined up with my head and the sun. Kind of looks like I have the sun as my head. I also like the ring effect the sun makes on this picture. Thought it was pretty cool!

That ring effect is lensflare from the sun. See the two white dot in your first pic? That's also lens flare, a very common type you usually seen in phone pics. The camera your drone uses probably employs similar optics. What drone are you using here?

great post!

Ahhh good to know! I never see the ring effect that big usually from an iphone as compared to the drone I use. Its the Breeze 4k Drone! I'm still testing it out though but may consider switching to the DJi Spark

yeah the dot is more common on the iphone than the full blown ring effect.

Here's a panorama i took with my iphone, there are two dots because its a panorama, its quite obvious here. it annoys me though but they're easily edited out :)

The DJI Spark does look awesome. I would love one. I have a phantom 3 which is pretty decent but a bulky thing to travel with.

Oooo nice. I'll probably start realizing it more now that you pointed it out haha

Yeah I want to get it because its so compact. Size of your palm I think? I've looked into the phantom and it has such nice quality but yeah like you said its a bit on the bulky side if I want to do any backpacking

Yeah, size of your palm, and the propellers fold up like the mavic so it fits in your pocket. If they make another version with a better camera I will definitely consider buying one.

I have been flying drones professionally (commercial) for the last 2 years. Be happy to answer any questions. We fly Matrice 600 Pro's with D-RTK and highly modified Inspire Pros. You can check out my web site here: http://davincidroneservice.com

Woah thats cool! Have you flown the Spark yet or heard anything about it?

No, not the Spark. We have a tricked out Mavic Pro though. Cool little bird! I'm sure the Spark is a neat little drone.

Nice clicks. The pic in you are in front of drone is looks amazing.

Thanks! I really like that ring effect. Hopefully I can get more snapshots this weekend
