The Greens Weekly Meeting with Volunteers

in #sustainable6 years ago

The Greens weekly meeting started at 10:18am with a word of prayer from Lima Charlotte followed by a welcome address from the Executive Director, Ngalim Franklin, Mr. Green. In his address he appreciated all the volunteers for the sacrifice they were making to build a thriving, just and sustainable planet and called on them to continue with the good and great work they were doing.
His word was followed by a song from Joice, a trainee of The Greens Computers who sang about every individual being like a candle light and called on all candle lights to use their light to light dark places. This was closely followed by our first Discovery from Fwl Renita.

Her discovery was about herself during which said she had discovered that she was born to be a fashion designer and a star in future. She narrated her story of how she knew nothing before joining The Greens’ EcoDesigns and how she had acquired skills and knowledge at EcoDesigns that could help her achieve her dream of becoming the best eco-fashion designer.

Next to Renita was Franka Mbom who walked us through the upcycling of textile waste to produce pillows as well as drilled us on the environmental and economic benefits of upcycled pillows.

What a great discovery. Now, we know how to make upcycled pillows thanks to Franka Mbom from EcoDesigns.
Scholastica Sama then calmed our minds with a riddle and Joseph Cha got the answer to the riddle.
Laura then presented a world water day report which was closely followed by an assiduity report from Scholastica.
All the 14 green volunteers then discussed and evaluated all The Greens projects and programs for the month of March and resolved as follows;
The trainers of EcoDesigns were asked to submit a biography and picture for the website and social networks.
Everyone was tasked to promote EcoDesigns through their social networks as well as bring 02 customers every month to sew their dresses with EcoDesigns. Trainees were tasked with upcycling textile waste to produce at least 01 scarecrow, 01 doll every, 01 pillow and 10 chalkboard dusters every week.
Volunteers of The Greens were tasked to stick with the implementation of The Greens plan of action and actively participate in the Kedjom-Keku Environmental Day.
The meeting ended at about 02:00pm with general office clean-up.
