Table Top Review: Flick 'em Up!

in #tabletop7 years ago

We had a clear spot on the table the other day and decided to try out a new game. @fronttowardenemy , myself and my youngest son all got together to shoot each other on the streets in the old west. I will say before hand, if you like fast and easy table top games... I would like to introduce you to....

Flick 'em Up!

Set in the old west, this game can be as hard or simple as you would like it to be, making it easy for kids and big kids alike. For this game we went solo. Meaning we each only had one player. Firstly though, you need to set up your town.

Our town has the buildings, hay bales, barrels, random railroad ties and so forth.

Have you ever played shuffleboard???

Gameplay:
Every player has 2 turns that can be a combination of move or shoot.

If you move, You flick the white movement puck. If it hits any obstacle then it does not count.
If you shoot, flick the bullet puck at whoever you are trying to kill.

Here you can see @fronttowardenemy trying to flick the move puck into my turf. No Way Jose!

You can also move into a building by shooting through the gap under it. Then you are safe inside and can shoot from there. But if someone comes in after you....Then it's a duel!!

I'm hiding in the general store.

We were playing a super basic version of the game but it was still fun as hell. I believe it is meant to played where each player has three characters to maneuver around town.

There are 3 expansions available and if you had a sweet flicking table set up, this game might be the one you never knew you needed. If you like flicking things and playing games that don't have a crazy amount of rules and stuff you gotta remember.... I would highly recommend Flick 'em Up.

Ahh cool! I have not played Rampage. That looks like fun. We do have King of Tokyo though. That one is really fun. :)

My kid love rampage! i put complete rules on recent games of it, also i purchased the meeple wars game to see if he gets it! @doctorcrypto

Oh my goodness, this looks a blast. We love board games, especially rainy Spring and Summer days. Our go to is Scrabble, not sure if it's considered a board game in that sense, but it sure is fun. I might have to add this to our 'game closet'.

You should! It's a good one. :)

haha, the game is named a classic movie

Really? What is the classic movie?

that is "shoot em up"

Ah!! I had no idea! Thanks. Ya learn something new everyday. :)

Are you talking about the classic Shoot em up with Clive Owen and Paul Giamatti?
I thought you were talking more Clint Eastwood classic.

That's a pretty cool movie. If you want to find out about some games, visit my blog

I'm still trying to figure out which movie you're talking about. :)

Interesting game .. your post is the first I have heard of it.

Subbuteo meets the wild west, looks fun mate! Hope you're well, long time no speak :)

Doing well man thanks! Stay dry in those monsoons!

That looks like a whole lot of fun. Who wouldn't want a western shootemup game. I have Sheep-Rancher Monopoly from Australia, but this is a whole lot more action and a hoot.
The puck shooting reminds me of the old folded triangle football games in HS. Get hit in the head with a flying field goal. Ah, the joys of life.

Yes! The football game .
We also used to play the asteroid game.
I think that's the closest comparison to how this game is.
Plus it is easy as heck to get playing because everyone wants to flick something. :)

Is just a nice game

very pleasant indeed.
