Today is a public holiday in India for the occasion of holi. So my wife and I slept till late. The we woke up around lunch and decided to have a nice lunch. We went to BKC and first went to Pa Pa Ya but that was closed for some private event. We then headed to Smoke House Deli. I had been to the place before and knew that it serves good sandwiches.
It is located on the backside of Citi headquarters in BKC. The area is really cool.
We went in and the place wasn't full because of Holi. Most people may have been busy enjoying the festival. The restaurant is quite spacious and also has a bar.
The menu offers a rich mix of pastas, sandwiches, pizzas, burgers and is similar to that of any Deli overseas.
I'm not posting pics of each page as that will just be extra pics but as one can see on the right edge of the menu, there's plenty of different types of dishes available.
I ordered a Club Sandwich and my wife ordered Mushroom Pasta. I wad confused betweenbetween having a burger or sandwich and went for the latter. The menu will confuse you because of the large number of options it offers.
Club Sandwich
As you can see, it was a giant sandwich. The filling was super thick. Besides loads of chicken, it had a nice thick layer of bacon, a really tasty but heavy dressing and butter was used on the surface to make the sandwich crisp. To top that, it came with fries. It was tough for me to finish the whole thing but the taste was so good, I did. The thick filling and dressing made for a messy eating experience so I may not want to have this again.
Mushroom Pasta
It is difficult to tell from the photo perhaps but the pasta portion was also a lot. My wife was extremely full after her meal. I had a bite of the pasta later and the flavour was very unique. There was a distinct flavour of mushroom for sure but overall, this was really good in taste.
The bill came to INR 1675, or $22. Not bad for both mains, another portion of chips and 2 diet cokes. I'll rate the place 4.5 on a scale of 1 to 5, 5 being best. It is a chain and the consistency of food is same at any outlet. Totally recommend
