Espresso Expressions
You ever feel like just going out to have a nice relaxing cup of tea in a cozy little cafe and to just enjoy the company of good friends and a good conversation? Well that's how we were feeling yesterday and so we decided to visit a relatively new place we had not tried before. That's what I call hitting two birds with one stone! They had a lot of things on menu including pasta and sushi! It did not seem like the brunch cafe type and I definitely had not seen any sort of cafe do sushi! It was so unorthodox. Due to the pandemic, we had not been out to a cafe for just tea time as well so this was our first in a while.
Tea and Relaxation
The interior design language of the place was beautiful but it did not feel cohesive. It felt a little modern contemporary but mixed with a old timey 50's feel. I was not sure how to put my finger on it. Never the less it was still well put together and the seating was comfortable which is always important for me. You can't go to a really awesome looking place but then you can't enjoy it if the seating is uncomfortable. It's all part of the experience!
We ordered our teas from a nice selection of loose leaf teas. There were also the regular teabag varieties but loose leaf tea has a much more richer full bodied flavour compared to the prior. They were both the same pricing so why not? I chose the Hazelnut Vanilla black tea while my friends got the Masala Chai Tea leaves. We were dining in and so, mentioned that we wanted ceramic cups, not the paper ones to go.
Not too long after we took our seats, our teas were brought to us in the quaintest, cutest tea mugs and saucers! Since it was loose leaf tea, they used these cool mesh tea infusers that had cool charms on them. Mines had a mini coffee mug on it while my friends had a cute flower. I just love it when cafes have such awesome little details that make the experience more enjoyable and cozy.
I made some cool high shutterspeed gifs of the us adding cream and sugar to our teas! Let's talk about the flavour of the teas for a second while you enjoy the brilliant visuals of the slow motion tea process. The hazelnut was just fantastic and was so mellow and enjoyably tasty that I really just wanted more!
The masala chai was also amazing and this is coming from someone that does not like spicy teas. The thing is that the flavors were not at all overpowering as it usually is with chai, but instead was mellow and just creamy, even without the milk!
All in all, the company was lovely, the atmosphere was cozy, the conversations were entertaining and most of all the tea was amazing! We were completely satisfied and would definitely return for a nice relaxing cup of chai when the time comes.
