here i am driving at 4:30am in the morning reaching the NSK hypermart

Hey fellow teammalaysians & steemians,

Almost two weeks ago we did a post to raise donations for 4 orphanages. It received an overwhelming responds from everyone irregardless minnows or whales. New steemians or seasoned steemians

--P O S T L I N NK--

The entire post collected around $195.98 at payout and also we received about 300 steem coins in donation value.

After the post came out and once it got converted into the ringgit malaysia , we had close to RM6,000 . We were ecstatic that so much has been raised thru a single post. Over the next few days we then started shopping based on the list of urgently required. It was mainly toiletries and also some electrical goods.

We got what we could and we set a date to go and deliver these items. To make it more memorable not only for these orphans but for us too as a team, we decided to go to a 24 hour hypermart at 5am in the morning and go shopping for toiletries and then send it directly to the orphanage.

Here are the list of teammalaysia who took leave from their work to join in the fun.

we bought shower gels soaps

baby powders, toothbrushes, etc..

100kgs of rice & 2 carton of milo

shampoo and conditioners

Done with the shopping and time to go and deliver the goods. - 7:15am

Arrived at Destiny Point Home Orphanage - 8:00am

We bought electrical items which these orphanage required urgently as theirs had broke down already. I knew a manufacturer who literally gave us a huge discount to get them. We managed to fit it into our budgets without problems.
  • 5 ceiling fans
  • 2 airpots
  • 3 blenders
  • 5 cloth racks - from ikea

every single car was filled

there was literally no more space

@zord189 demanding an upvote

we had 5 cars all filled with goods

sneaking a quick wefie

Finally done with all the unloading. And here is what we bought with all the upvote from the post made

There a quickshot with teammalaysia tag

At the start of this year 2017, I knew that crypto & the blockchain would be a big thing this year. But never in my wildest dream I would have thought that with the economics of the Steem blockchain , we would be able to raise a substantial amount of money in a very short amount of time to be able to help these orphanages.

This is a true testimonial that the community on Steemit is truly a giving community else we would not have reached our objectives to raise the money in 7 days. and with great people in teammalaysia community, we would continue to grow strongly and to help each other in anyway we can. Great job guys !

This project is a @myach initiative, a collaboration between @sndbox & teammalaysia community with the support of all steemians on steemit.

With the increase in the price of Steem and Sbd, when our earnings are converted to Ringgit, it is really high. I never dream that we can earn that much. This show that Steemit can be used to help the less fortunate and the needy. Keep up the good work.

It's further proof that blockchain is incredible and has huge potential to help society but more importantly it shows that at the heart of it all people still care for people!

Good job, guys and girls!

That's an impressive haul!

What kind of prospects do kids typically have once they leave an orphanage? Are provisions made for further education or vocational training?

according to the caretaker , there are none provided by the orphanage however if their school results were good , they may get either a govt scholarship or a private institute scholarship .. most of these kids will find work outside and occasionally return to the orphanage to help out financially but only if they can. Else these orphanage relies mostly on private funding and support.

Have you thought about contacting traditional media about what you've just done? A phone call to a newspaper could result in a write up, which would be good for the orphanage and good for Steemit.

Nice one @bitrocker2020 good work @davidke20 Very nice of you guys!

Great job on this!

I love to see this! It seems like you were able to purchase a substantial amount of items to help the orphanages, great job team!

yeap .. we bought a LOT ! of the urgent items for them. We got stuck in buying sanitary pads though .. lucky we had ladies in the group.. haha

This is really awesome! Steemit has proved to be beyond just a social media platform that pays while you blog.
