RE: The only blue sky I'll be seeing for 10 days

Very sorry to read this @livinguktaiwan. 😔

"Isn't it great to have family around."

Yes, very much a blessing, in your current situation. Take heart, for most people, while "no joke," COVID is just another illness, from which most recover without any long-term effects.

Hopefully, you will be able to stay out of a hospital. My beloved lost her brother to COVID within the last month. He had some health issues and ended up in the hospital. Lots of family discussion surrounding how that all played out ...

What are you doing to "self-medicate?" Do you have any protocol you are following to regain your health.

P.S. Interesting to see your self-test. I will long remember being on our vacation this summer, getting a COVID test (as a precaution, before going to our daughter's house), and belatedly (hospital screwed up their routine ...) being handed a piece of paper which read that I was positive. With a woman just looking at me ... 😒👎

Sort:

The cases in UK are shooting up but thankfully hospitalisation and death rates have not gone up by the same magnitude, that is the most important thing. I'm so sorry to hear about your brother in law, that is really sad.

We're not doing much different during self isolation to be honest, as it's just like a normal cough. Drinking lots of water and taking some vitimin C pill, and lemon honey drink. My family are feeding me well, so that is a bonus!!

re your test, did they give you the wrong result of do they just not give you any instructions what to do if you test positive? She didn't shoo you home to self isolate immediately?

They said nothing, but we didn't need any prompting. I went back to where we were staying, packed up, and had enough strength to complete the marathon drive back to our home. Then, we went into our local urgent care first thing the next morning, where the + results were confirmed ...

From there, we followed the protocol we had researched and in which we had the most confidence. The worst of it was over in about 3 days. We were totally recovered after about 3 weeks. The cough "hung on" over that time and just slowly petered out ...

Nice to know you have family looking after you. That is always worth some "points" in your recovery! 😉 While our children have all moved off "to the four winds," we had the support of our church family.
