1 . Researchers from the University of London, Queen Mary, concluded that 69% of people who at least once tried to smoke, then go on to daily smoking for a while or forever. Scientists analyzed data from eight surveys involving 216 314 people. According to the authors of the paper, this result indicates the importance of preventive measures to combat smoking.

2 . It is assumed that triphophobia has deep evolutionary roots and is connected with the fact that many potentially dangerous creatures, such as snakes or spiders, look similar. Heart palpitations grow, pupils dilate, muscles are filled with blood - these processes are coordinated by the sympathetic nervous system.

Scientists used various data to obtain the most accurate estimates of mass loss by the glaciers of Greenland, the Arctic and the Antarctic.

3 . This process is uneven, and in the South Pacific deformation can reach 0.4 mm per year, and in the Arctic - up to 1 mm per year. Figures may not seem very noticeable, but they show that real growth in the level of the world's oceans is eight percent higher than that calculated from single satellite data.
