Omg! It happened to me

Omg! It happened to me.  Yesterday I went to the outdoor outlet mall to meet my friend and her family who was visiting from out of town. Sun was shining. Wind was calm.  Sky was blue.  It was such a beautiful afternoon.

Here's the photo.

We walked, talked, visit few stores. Then came the time to say the goodbyes until we meet again.  I walked with my friend and her family up to the parking lot where their car was parked the north side of the mall. And then, I walked back from north to south through the mall to the parking lot where my car was parked. At least that’s what I thought. I walked and walked and walked in circles. Backed tracked my steps but could not locate my car.  I tried the panic button on my keychain but no luck.  It happened because I was distracted with a phone call when I parked my car and didn’t take notice to write down the pole number in the parking lot.  The sun was beating on me and I was getting pretty tired.  Finally, I called my family to come pick me up from the mall and asked to help find my car.

Here's another view of the parking lot from where I was waiting.

While waiting for my family, I saw a bench in the shade which was already occupied by another woman who was waiting for her daughter. I sat next to the woman and told her about my ordeal.  She immediate told me that same thing happened to them.  They also didn’t remember where their car was parked. So they backed tracked their steps and use the mobile app to find the car.  She was so thankful and relieved that her daughter had “find my car” app on her mobile.  I waited about 30 minutes before my family came to pick me up.  Eventually, we located my car which was parked in the kidding corner from where I had them picked me up. Took less than 2 minutes though.

So what’s the moral of the story, use the technology to make your life easier and save yourself time and much headaches by using an app or taking a snap shot of the parking pole number or its surroundings.  Believe me it could happened to anyone.

I did some research and found interesting articles.  Links are pasted below if anyone is interested.
