Denmark set a new record for renewable energy in 2017, receiving almost half of its electricity from the wind. Wind energy accounted for 43.6% of the total electricity demand, beating the previous national record of 42%, set in 2015.
Since 2001, the installed capacity of wind power has doubled - although the turbines were installed 20 percent less. This became possible because today's turbines have become bigger and more efficient.
By 2020, Denmark could receive about half of its electricity by wind. By that time, the country must generate 80% of its electricity from renewable sources, including biomass and solar energy.
CEO Lars Agaard said that such serious indicators, as 43.6%, help promote Danish green technologies in international markets. At the end of 2017, Vestas announced an order for a 96 MW wind farm in India.
Eemm here in Mexico we have problems with aeolic energy cus they need to destroy everything around.
