According to a recent tweet, the Terra community voted and passed a proposal that plans to launch a new version of the Terra blockchain without UST algorithmic stablecoin. The old chain will be called Terra Classic (token: $LUNC), and the new chain will be called Terra (token: $LUNA).

According to the plan, $LUNA will be air-dropped across $LUNA Classic stakers, $LUNA Classic holders, residual $UST holders, and essential app developers of Terra Classic. Here is the summary of the new token distribution:

  • Community pool: 30%
  • Pre-attack $LUNA holders: 35%
  • Pre-attack aUST holders: 10%
  • Post-attack $LUNA holders: 10%
  • Post-attack $UST holders: 15%

The final release of the new Terra Core has been released in preparation for the new chain launch on 27 May. Exchanges like Bitfinex, Huobi, Bitrue, Binance have announced they will support the new token.

The Hivebuzz proposal already got important support from the community. However, it lost its funding a few days ago and only needs a few more HP to get funded again.
