Sometimes, I sit down and think about how far I’ve come, and honestly, I know I’m not yet where I want to be. There are still goals I’m chasing, dreams I’m building, and places in life I’m yet to reach but in the middle of it all, I can’t help but thank God for how far He has brought me.
I remember one afternoon in Agege that I’ll never forget. I had gone out in search of an opportunity, with so much hope in my heart. By the time I was heading home, I had nothing but disappointment and a few naira left in my pocket. I stopped at a small canteen to eat rice and beans, and while eating, I couldn’t shake the thought that life was passing me by. Everyone around me seemed happy, laughing and moving forward, while I sat there quietly wondering if my own story would ever change.
That season of my life wasn’t easy. I fell, I doubted myself, I cried in silence, and I carried questions no one could answer. But looking back, I see how those days shaped me. They forced me to learn resilience, patience, and humility. They made me discover that even in my lowest moments, I could still rise again.
Today, I may not have arrived at my final destination, but I am not where I used to be. I see progress, small steps forward and little wins that remind me that God is not done with me yet. I look back at the boy who once sat in that buka with only enough for rice and beans, and I see a man who has refused to give up, who still believes that better days are ahead.
So this Throwback Thursday is not just about looking at the past; it’s about thanking God for the journey so far. It’s about appreciating the lessons, the growth, and the quiet courage that has kept me going. I may not be where I want to be yet, but I know I’m on my way and I believe with all my heart that the future God is preparing for me will be worth every tear, every delay, and every moment of waiting.
