As a good tour guide, we should know understand about culture and history in which you are going to explain to visitors. Basically, we need to do survey such as the recommended place to have lunch or dinner, and historical sites like traditional house and monuments in that areas.
In this time. my team and I, Ashkabila travel, decide to explore some places as Banda Aceh landmark both taking pictures for documentations and learning more about tourism sites.
1. Traditional Food I Aceh traditional cuisine
Because we start to get around almost Afternoon, so we plan to have lunch which special Aceh menu. Located in Neusu in downtown. This Restaurant has a a good location place to open the business.
Many foods here, like Ayam tangkap, kemamah, sie ungkot ye. From all those food the unique food is ayam tangkap because you can put fried temurui leaves that leaves are so crunchy
At 12 o'clock sharp, our team, Ashkabila Travel, drops to one of the famous restaurants in Banda Aceh and we doing survey to make sure whether all menu here are recommended or not. Based on survey, that is so recommended to come, in the same time, many Malaysian tourists to that place. Because this restaurant serves all Aceh traditional menu that make them tasty.
2. Historical Sites I Tourism sites Aceh traditional House
After visiting restaurant, we have time to visit a complex tremendous Aceh traditional house. In that complex there are a lot of historical monuments.
Such as Aceh traditional house, Cakra Donya bell, and old cemetery from Bugis Kingdom.
Each of this moments has tremendous memories.
By having experiences visiting landmark of Aceh and fundamental knowledge of history of tourism sites, it helps a tour guide to give information for visitors. Thus, as youth and next generation, increasing awareness of history is very essential nowadays.
3. Tsunami sites I Museum Tsunami and LPTD Apung
In 2004, Aceh was terribly devastated by Tsunami wave and also a lot of people passed away and many houses were damaged.
Visiting Tsunami sites for instance, Tsunami Museum and PLTD Apung educates us about disaster prevention and also moments for commemoration.
Tsunami Museum is designed by Ridwan Kamil, Mayor of Bandung city. The purpose of this building is for educates the next generation the importance of Tsunami prevention. Afterwards, many displays are made inside of the building for memories.
This big ship as a diesel electric generator was pushed 5KM to land by fierceness tsunami wave. This ship is 2600 Ton offshore ship.
If we look at this picture, we can imaging how big the wave to bring it to the land.
Having knowledge of Tsunami prevention we can anticipate in case Tsunami happened .
Finally, Learning by doing is much more fun than just Learning from theory. We are able to feel the situation so that we can explain to visitor as one of main jobs of tour guide.
