Festival Impressions 1 and a music CD recommendation

Festival İzlenimlerim 1 ve bir CD önerisi
Hafta sonu kızımla ücretsiz bir konser izledim 46. İstanbul Müzik festivali kapsamında. Bomontiada Babylon’daki konser salonu tam olarak dolu olmasa da kaliteli bir izleyici kitlesini çekebilmiş.
Piyano’da İklim Tamkan ve solist mezzo-soprano Senem Demircioğlu bize arya ve popüler şarkılar seslendirdiler. Pırıl pırıl gençlerin sahneye çıkmasıyla bir bahar rüzgarı esti. Kıyafet seçimleri hafta sonu klasikleri arasında yer bulan ve göreceli olarak resmiyetten uzak ortam için bence çok uygundu. Fotoğraftan görebileceğiniz üzere sanatçılar da çocukluklarına bir selam çakmıştı. Tütü ve spor ayakkabılara dikkat!

Samimi bir ortamda ve yüksek müzikal kalitedeki konser eser seçimleri ile de sürükleyiciydi. En beğendiğim 2 eser; Mattheson’un klavsen için 1 nolu Re minör süiti ve Maçkalı Hasan Tunç’un Ben Seni Sevdiğumi türküsünün Tamkan tarafından yapılan düzenlemesi oldu. Tamkan’ın Mattheson yorumunda gözlerimi kapattım ve kendimi tınılara bıraktım. F. Say ve Tamkan düzenlemesi olan Kaptanzade Ali Rıza Bey bestesi Yıldızların Altında ise kızımın beğendiği parçaydı.
Genç sanatçılar bir de bis parçası hazırlasaydı on numara olacaktı, yine de son şarkıyı tekrar çalıp seslendirdiler. Ne yani, seyircinin isteyeceğinden şüpheleri mi vardı?
Çıkışta ise bir yıl önce beraber çıkardıkları “İlk Atlas” adlı albümlerini imzaladılar. Konseri kaçıranların ve ümit veren genç sanatçılarla tanışmak isteyenlerin dinlemesini özellikle tavsiye ederim.
Acaba bu konser programı da ufak değişiklikler ile yeni bir albüm yapılabilir mi?
Festivale güzel bir giriş yaptım, sizlere 8 konser izlenimi aktarmayı planlıyorum. Aile bağları temalı bu festival İKSV desteği ile göğsümüzü kabartmaya devam ediyor. Bu yılın programı özellikle etkileyici. Bilet kaldıysa sizler de bırakın müzik alsın sizi götürsün…

I attended a free concert with my daughter at the weekend as part of the 46th Istanbul Music Festival. The concert hall at Bomontiada Babylon was not exactly full but it was able to attract a distinguished audience.

İklim Tamkan at the piano and soloist mezzo-soprano Senem Demircioğlu performed us arias and popular songs. The sparkling youngsters went out on the stage and a spring wind was blowing. I think their choice of clothes were very appropriate for the relatively informal environment, the concert being among the classics on the weekend sub-theme. As you can see from the photo, the artists sent a greeting to their childhood. Watch out for the skirts and the sneakers!

The concert had high musical quality and was also impressive with the selection of pieces. My two favorite works; Mattheson's harpiscord suite no 1 in D minor and Maçkalı Hasan Tunç’s Ben Seni Sevdiğumi’s arrangement made by Tamkan. I closed my eyes in Tamkan's Mattheson interpretation and left myself to the musical vibrations only. The arrangement of F. Say and Tamkan of a Kaptanzade Ali Riza Bey composition, Yıldızların Altında, was the piece my daughter favored.

If the young artists had prepared an encore it would be perfect, but they performed the last song once again. Did they have any doubt that the audience would not want one?

On the way out, they signed their albums titled "İlk Atlas", which they had released a year ago. I especially recommend this CD to listeners who missed the concert and to those who want to be introduced to promising young artists.

Can this concert program be published as a new album with minor changes?
