Ireland Mini Trip - #2

Cnoc Fola - The Bloody Foreland

Donegal, Ireland

The rugged, beaten coastal stretch which skirts the very north west tip of Ireland is famous for its breathtaking scenery and beautiful sunsets. I am fortunate enough that our final destination in the Republic is right at the end of the bloody foreland in Gweedore, therefore I had to stop at the many viewpoints and beaches along the way. Some of the views were spectacular, despite the intermittent weather and I have shown some of the nicer snaps we got below.

There is no shelter from the strong winds in this unique part of Ireland and there is complete exposure to every storm system and weather front which passes overhead. This location is one of the first points of impact in Europe for any weather systems formed in the Atlantic so you have to respect the locals for their hardiness for in living in these harsh conditions. Despite this, the people of Donegal are some of the friendliest I have had the pleasure of meeting and I would recommend the county to anyone in a heartbeat.

Stay tuned for more Ireland adventures!

Cheers!
