Goodbye Bangkok, Hello Pattaya !
As we are sitting here, having breakfast in the 'GreenHouse' on the Khao San Road we are having a hard time finding happiness. What is the right thing to do?
Following our plans we would leave Bangkok tonight at 6 pm, starting our way to Kho Tao with the bus and boat. We already checked out of the Thara House, but still left our backpacks. A friend of Julia just went to Kho Tao for vacation and already told us, that it has been raining for over 24 hours now so we were already thinking about changing our plans and to travel to another place. Since we got tickets and already booked a bungalow we wanted to go down there anyways and then decide how to go on. We also heard that all the boats are not going to the islands anymore because of the bad weather, so we might not even get there.
We talked to a friend whom we met on the plane and spent most of the time waiting with. He currently is on the Phillipines visiting his girlfriend, but after checking aircrafts we want to think about a cheaper option to go on with. I had the idea to go to Pattaya since a friend of mine has told me a lot about it and apparently the weather is supposed to be much better there. All we want is to get to the beach and don't be caught on an island where it's not supposed to stop raining for the next 10 days. We are super disappointed and our mood on a low level. Jules and I were close to tearing up and crying as we started debating about our situation. Everything has been a disaster so far, though I gotta say we had an awesome day yesterday. This is just not how we imagined our journey to be.
Change of plans - we cancelled our bungalow and are not going to Koh Tao tonight. We have been sitting in the 'GreenHouse' for three hours now and discussed our options. We will get a few things on the market now, then head to the Thara House to get our backpacks and take a cab to Pattaya which will take us one and a half hour. My friend told us about a hotel called the 'SIam View Residence' where we will try to get a room for one or two nights. Our mood is rising , we are finally full of excitement and can't wait to leave Bangkok behind - we hope for better days !
