Really awesome shots and I think you were lucky that conditions calmed down enough to fly the drone. I had no idea that cold weather would drain the battery more than normal. Is there not something like an insulator to help keep the batteries warm or is that not just practical?

You are right! It was hailing like crazy one minute and then calm the next. It was well worth the risk. It is a known thing about the cold, you can actually get thermal battery pack to store them, but when in the drone it's just up to you to keep an eye on your battery level.
