Lap of Honour

in #travel6 years ago

Before our staff Christmas party the tennis coaches (and selected invitees) go on a pub crawl in Vancouver to get nicely oiled before walking in to make small talk with all our colleagues. It has become somewhat of a tradition and in the past we have done "The Golden Mile" through Gastown, "The Lonsdown" down Lonsdale Road and "The Town Hop" in Downtown. I documented last years "Lap Of Honour" around Yaletown, as those that completed the full crawl received a medal.

The rule was the bar tender would draw a business card to see who's round it would be in each bar (The card was then withdrawn from the pack) The buyer then rolled two dice and if the number was odd he would buy a beer of his choice, If it was even he would buy a spirit if his choice (with mixer if preferred) and if a double was rolled then the spirit would become a double. This eliminated drinkers ordering the expensive drinks in a round as we all drank the same and also gave everyone a fair shot at their names being pulled in the cheaper bars.

Steve was late and we left him a drink in each pub we hit until he caught up with us by the 4th venue.

Any ideas for this years party? Please comment with any suggestions.
