After the first and crazy day on Phu Quoc Island we have some time for rest and adjust to Asian lifestyle. Actually we used to big city life and had to try and forget it. There are no such traffic on Phu Quoc, no cars (only some taxi), people are lazy and slow. All Phu Quoc life is like slow motion so we were going to change ourself
Step 1. We need the bike (motorbike)
Phu Quock is an Island but rather big Island so you can't just walk from one place to other. For example the Phu Quock market was about 6 km far from our home and Epizode festival more than 8 km far. So we were need bike. However the rent price on Phu Quoc was much higher than in Cambodia (Phu Quoc price 150$ monthly) that's why we decided to buy motorbike. The cost of old bike on Phu Quoc is about 200-300$. However it's not easy to find good bike at one day so we rented bikes and went market
Step 2. Market and food
There are several very important difference between supermarkets in Russia and in Vietnam. We couldn't find supermarkets on Phu Quoc island at all. There were some shops but you coudn't find fruits or meet there. There are no prise label in the shops you should ask seller for prise. Also it were extremely difficult to understand Vietnamese - nobody knows Russian or English. Sometimes I thought that they couldn't understand even pictures. They always sad: 'Go market!' and swing there hands.
So we went to Market. Have you ever been to Asian market? It's very strange thing:
- a lot of people mess around
- a lot of thing and goods are sold and bought
- bikes are everywhere
I'll tell about Asian market in one of my next post but now let me show you some photo:
Step 3 - the first nice place
When we have bought all food and staff we went to port. There were some ships and beautiful landscape so we have took some pictures.
Have you ever been in South-East Asia? Than you should know that people there are not very bothered by preserve of environment so some pictures were awful:
However there are just bit of them who really like nature and cares about it. Actually there are a lot of dumpsites or garbage yards all over the world so Vietnamese are the same as the others.
Step 4 - Sunset and supper
I like sunsets. Everybody like it. Do you like to watch the Sun goes bellow the skyline? You can always get some wonderful photos of it and also it's very romantic to look at the Sun. Sunset on Phu Quoc are so beautiful that I gonna post them time after time in my stories.
At last we came home and get gorges supper with fruits and rum. Yes sometimes we were preferred a bit of alcohol.
