Komaritsa

in #travel9 years ago

Komaritsa is a village in the Krasnoborsky District of the Arkhangelsk Region, located on the river of the Northern Dvina.

The name justifies it entirely! Mosquitoes (komar - in russian) bite here even in the daytime under the scorching summer sun!
At the entrance meets the local dog.

The church is restored, painted.

The village itself is very small - maybe 5-6 houses in total.

Very close to the steep bank of the Northern Dvina.

I wanted to photograph the church and the village from afar, so I went around.

Most northern villages are distinguished by the presence of high poplars in them.

Northern Dvina. After the merger with Vychegda, it becomes truly great!

Around the village there are many ravines.

I'll try to go even further!

Here is another ravine with a path that leads to the river.

Here the banks have exposed their ancient deposits of rocks of the Permian period.

The ravine turned out to be even steeper and more picturesque!

The place really liked it.

I return to the car through a field full of flowers and herbs.

At the end of all travel through the Arkhangelsk region will be made a separate post with panoramas.

To be continued...
