The village of Komaritsa, Kotlas district, Arkhangelsk region, Russia

The village of Komaritsa was located on the most important at that time trading Sukhono-Dvinsky route from Moscow to the only external port of the country - Arkhangelsk. Large pier, commercial buildings, noisy fairs. Sold to all corners of bread, meat, boats, shits, oblas, boards and nasal for the transport of goods along the Dvina. Life was boiling. All this has sunk in the centuries. From the once large settlement Komaritsa turned into a small village with a few squint houses near the church.

The local surroundings are a rare corner of Russian nature, where coniferous and mixed forests, hills, fields and deep ravines with flowing in the lowlands, often nameless streams, follow each other in a harmonious sequence. The main attraction of these places for the townspeople is their relative unoccupiedness. Villages and settlements are at quite considerable distances, and nature is dominating the conscious activity of a person, making the Komaritsa area a kind of nature reserve.
