The Most Beautiful Place In Ontario

in #travel7 years ago

Hello Steemit friends,

I recently was away on a short getaway with my boyfriend. We booked ourselves a cabin in Tobermory Ontario, Canada. Tobermory is a 3 hours drive from Toronto, located by the Bruce Peninsula National Park and right off of Georgian Bay. Tobermory is a popular tourist town in the summer time for its attractions such as, Big Tub Lighthouse, Indian Cove,The Grotto and Flower Pot Island.

Indian Cove

The first day we arrived we just unpacked in our cabin at Little Cove Adventures. We then had some dinner and went to bed. The following day we went to the National Park and grabbed a time slot early in the morning to reserve parking. I guess the National Park is a high demand, so they have time slot parking now. We were lucky to get a 12pm-4pm time slot. After that we went to get some breakfast and found a local coffee shop located near the candy store. We had some time to kill before going back to the park so we decided to explore Big Tub Light House

Once we were finished we headed over to the National park. The Bruce Peninsula National Park was the whole reason for coming to Tobermory. The park is famous for The Grotto and Indian Cove. These two places are absolutely breath taking and picture perfect. The crystal clear blue water makes it so beautiful, picture worthy and great for swimming. Getting to Indian Cove was a fair bit of a hike it took us about 20 mins, I honestly could have spent a lot more time here and plan to come back in the future.

The second biggest attraction at the Bruce Peninsula National Park would definitely be The Grotto. The Grotto is not easy to access although, I was able to get to the cave by swimming. I think there is a way to climb down from the rocks, but it is very steep and would require proper footwear. I chose to wear open sandals and regretted it after just because it was a little annoying when climbing. To get to this area it is "off trail" so you have to be prepared for the rocky hike and rattle snakessss.

The next spot we visited on our last day was Flower Pot Island. To get to Flower Pot Island we had to book one of the glass bottom boats. Bruce Anchor Cruise was the boat company in Tobermory we chose to take to the island. They have a large selection of boats to chose from with different boarding times. I was traveling with a dog and they have regulations of only one dog per boat and not all boats allow dogs, so thats something to keep in mind.  It was a bit difficult to see to the bottom of the glass due to it being small but still very interesting. We were given a tour of the sunken ships in the harbour for about 30 minutes before we reached the island. Along the way to Flower Pot Island the guide informed us of the other islands surrounding, mentioning some even inhabit bears. Once to the island we had 3 hours to explore.
