Travel Blog #5 - Scuba Diving in Fort Lauderdale

in #travel6 years ago (edited)

Hello Steemit Friends! Today I will be talking about my recent #scubadiving adventures in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Scuba diving was probably the highlight of my #FortLauderdale trip. There's nothing better than getting up close and personal with the aquatic life of the Atlantic Ocean.

For it being my first time scuba diving, we just started at shore and swam out. Once we got about 5 feet deep my instructor went through the procedure of what you do if you lose your mouth piece and how to activate the inflatable vest.

After that I was set to go and we swam further out reaching depths of around 45 feet. Scuba diving is easy. It was a lot easier than normal swimming. After three instructed dives, you can become of certified which has it's benefits.

I really wasn't expecting much aquatic life so close to shore but I was wrong. We seen sharks, eels, blow fish, and more.

Overall the whole dive lasted about an hour from start to finish. It was about $150.00 for everything. Scuba diving can get expensive depending on where you go but it's worth it. Once you're certified it's a lot cheaper because you don't require an instructor. I might actually be picking this up as a hobby, it was a lot of fun.

I dove with Deep Blue Divers and I give them 5 out of 5 stars.

In a couple weeks I will be in the Florida Keys. I plan on scuba diving again for sure.

Thank You 😊

nice one mate, damn that water is totally diff from what we have in Malta.

keep the posts coming!!

Thanks for the comment! The water is pretty clear. It was nice.

Scuba diving is amazing experience but look at this colours....coral reefs are dying... Also colours depend on the photo equipment that is used but I assume that it was not a deep dive.

The reefs were definitely not colorful. You would have to go a couple miles out to see colorful reefs which I will be doing when I got to the Florida keys.
